Important Information
Why is a playground necessary?
- Our current playground has reached the critical “end-of-life” stage. Leaving the playground in operation any longer creates a safety and health hazard for our BCYC kiddos.
- We have had a couple minor injuries with loose tread on steps.
- The kids will have an upgraded experience and enhanced safety features with a new playground.
- Reduced maintenance and repair costs.
- Removal of the sand and new “Engineered Wood Fiber” fill.

Project Updates/Timeline
- 8/28/2025 – Board of Directors has authorized fundraising efforts to commence and down payment to be made on the playground.
- 10/3/2025 – United Way and City of Belton will team up for Day of Caring to pull the old playground out and remove all the sand. Sand in the other 2 playground areas will be replaced with “Engineered Wood Fiber” Mulch.
- December 2025 – Anticipated delivery date of new playground
- January 2026 – Anticipated completion date of playground
