Belle of Belton Print E-mail

The Belle of Belton is a very important part of Belton both in that it recognizes wholesome and outstanding young ladies and that it raises funds for the Belton Christian Youth Center. In addition to the United Way, Belle of Belton is largely responsible for helping keep the BCYC doors open and to continue providing safe, fun activities for children.

During the summer, this group works with young ladies, who have finished their junior year in high school, to raise funds for the BCYC. Young ladies are selected based on excellence in scholarship, leadership, citizenship and community service. In addition to their fundraising activities, these ladies have opportunities to attend an orientation tea, tour of the Center, and other special events as determined by the Belle of Belton Committee.

In the past years, funds raised by the Belles have gone towards specific purchases such as a new bus, a new van, and towards the building in which the Center currently resides as well as ongoing improvements. In 2004, the Belles raised over $55,000 for the BCYC.

Since 1997, the Belle of Belton young ladies have raised over $400,000.  If you would like to make a donation in honor of one of these ladies, please contact them directly or call the BCYC at 939-5759.

Selections for the 2008 Belles of Belton will be chosen in the Spring of 2008.
